I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EACH AND EVERY PERSON WHO SUBMITS MY NAME IN PRAYER, I KNOW YOUR LIVES ARE BUSY AND FOR YOU TO TAKE THE TIME TO PRAY IS A HARD THING TO DO AND I AM SURE YOU ARE PRAYING FOR MANY, MANY OTHER PEOPLE, BUT I JUST WANTED TO THANK YOU. -Rotina
History: (From David) Many of you may not know but Rotina had an art studio and is an excellent artist we plan on putting much of her work on this blog and offer some (prints) for sale as we have been receiving many requests for her artwork. I would like to especially thank Cranberry's in Jonesbourgh for their ongoing support and prayers, and if you happen to visit the oldest town in Tennessee, be sure to stop in at Cranberry's and say hello, they have great food and entertainment for the family. Again I would like to join Rotina in a "special" thank you for your prayers and concern - it means so much for Rotina to have a "living testimony" Thank You.
Dear Larry and Norma:
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and the prayers you have offered on behalf of Kathrine McCoys daughter and my wife Rotina.
There are many that have personally experienced or have loved ones who have experienced cancer or other chronic illnesses and are aware of the emotional, physical and financial strains such a disease can place on a family; however, for those that may not be aware, there are four stages associated with cancer. Rotina, in the latter part of May, found a lump in her right breast about the size of a quarter. As she previously had fibrocystic problems, she was not overly concerned but did go to the doctor for a mammogram and an ultrasound. The mammogram did not show cancer and the ultrasound showed something which the doctors thought might be a cyst as Rotina had recently, once again, started to drink tea and they felt that might be attributing to the lump. They told her to stop the tea, wait a couple of weeks and take another ultrasound.
Approximately two weeks later the lump had grown to about the size of a baseball; the doctors did a biopsy and it came back positive for cancer. At that point, she had both breast removed, sixteen lymph nodes in the right arm (three showed positive for cancer), six lymph nodes from her left arm (all negative) and some muscle tissue from her right chest wall (also negative). She has been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma (spreading breast cancer) and is considered at Stage 3A in the four stages of cancer. Although this is not the best diagnosis, 3A is better than 3B and most certainly better than Stage four.
In addition, once one has the removal of lymph nodes, they then run the risk of developing lymphodema that can result in the arm/s swelling to the size of a leg and can be caused by an insect bite or sting, a burn, a cut or some similar incident.
The way it was explained to us by Rotinas cancer patient advocate is this. She stated if one can visualize an interstate highway with the traffic moving smoothly and all at once there is a wreck causing the traffic to back up, the lymph nodes react in much the same way when an incident occurs; they back up and thus the swelling of the arm. When she (the cancer patient advocate) had finished explaining this, we wondered if Rotina had an accident, should we pull out the first aid kit, treat the wound and call the doctor or call a wrecker service and ask for a tow truck.
After much study on chemo and radiation therapy and the side effects, Rotina has elected to take the route of natural healing by changing her diet and placing her faith in Gods healing power that he has given our bodies if we follow his plan of nutrition as noted in Genesis. Toward this end, we have visited Hallelujah Acres in Shelby, North Carolina and have been on the diet since that visit. We would highly recommend that you along with other family or church members consider attending one of the free seminars offered on the first Saturday of each month. Please contact us if anyone is interested in going or visit their site http://www.hacres.com/ for more information.
As of this letter, Rotina developed another lump around her collar bone near the base of her neck. She had a biopsy and this lump is once again showing positive for cancer. One of the things we believe we understand about cancer is that the removal of lymph nodes can also cause the cancer to spread throughout the lymphatic system. If we had discovered Hallelujah Acres prior to Rotina having her breast removed, she would not have opted for surgery. Once one is discovered with cancer, the treatments are rushed without much time to think. It is a scary situation and alternatives to chemo and radiation are not mentioned. We would also suggest that one read World Without Cancer The Story of Vitamin B17 by G. Edward Griffin who also authored The Creature From Jekyll Island; a book about the formation of the private banking cartel known as the Federal Reserve to which we have turned over our countrys monetary system. Another site one should visit to learn more about cancer is http://www.drday.com/. She is a physician that developed cancer and was considered terminal but with change of diet and faith in God, she has been cured of cancer.
Further, as we had spoken briefly at the hospital about what is transpiring in our country, I am enclosing some information along with a couple of videos for your review. We, as a country, are in serious trouble and the silent majority needs to speak up if we are to have any hope of regaining and retaining our lost freedoms. I fear the window, if still in existence, is small and time is of the essence.
In closing, thanks again for the donation and the prayers offered. This challenge faced by Rotina has been a most humbling experience for both of us. I personally am, most always, a fix-it type guy but I cannot fix this one. There have been so many acts of love and generosity that it is overwhelming to both Rotina and I causing us to cry a lot.
Please continue to pray for Gods will in our lives and may God bless and lead you in his wisdom through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In Christ,
David and Rotina
